Magnetophone ~ Man Who Ate the Man
CD released on October 25th, 2005 by 4AD Records.
You know what sucks really hard? When you like an album a whole bunch, but it reminds you of one of the shittiest times in your life. This happens a lot when people break-up and a certain album really reminds them of that special little someone who ripped their precious heart out. Everyone's been there. My situation in particular is kind of funny.
I broke up with my lady of 5-6 years, I wasn't enjoying the profession I was in and to boot, there was a fucking war on TV. Now at the risk of sounding like a music flake I won't tell you what the record was that was really getting me through all that. I will say that I'm a sucker for good pop music and that it's the second highest selling record ever, on Sub Pop.
I actually handled all the crap I was going through really well for someone my age, but I honestly don't think things would have been as easy without an album as thick and full of emotion as that record is. Say what you will but that record has some serious emotion and atmosphere in the back. It made for some seriously introspective moments.
This album By Magnetophone called "Man Who Ate the Man", is also chalked full of wicked cool atmosphere. Right now things couldn't be better, to tell you the truth. There's still a war on TV, but major media prefers to talk about missing drunk kids in the tropics and the wonderful world of weather.
This might be the vaguest review ever.
