Interview and intro by: Matthew Parrish / Photograph by: Matthew Parrish We Are The Damned: "Twilight Zone"Weird shit is always happening. I'm not too sure I have ever been involved with something like this - but I have seen some mental stuff go down. --
Sofia Magalhães: One month ago something pretty odd happened…
Truth.Explosion.Magazine: It’s been the weirdest few months around here too! What happened to you?
SM: I was out with my boyfriend and a friend of ours. It was a cold Sunday night, but we really felt like going out...
TEM: I get those all the time on Sundays – that’s why we can it Funday!
SM: So we went through a supermarket to buy something to drink cause all the bars were closed.
TEM: Lucky that your supermarkets serve booze! What did you get?
SM: We brought a Porto Wine bottle. Then we got in my car and we went to a place by the river, under a bridge.
TEM: Fun little outside drink! Did you stay there long?
SM: We stayed there for almost two hours, just drinking and talking shit. When we finished the bottle, we realized everyone wanted desperately to pee.
TEM: Naturally! Where did you all go?
SM: The boys went to a side under the bridge and I went to another. I was ready to pull my pants up when everything happened.
TEM: Ohh shit! What happened?
SM: As I stood up, I hit my head extremely hard against a bridge pillar that I didn’t notice.
TEM: Ouch! Were you ok?
SM: I started laughing right after, thinking to myself how lucky I was to be able to stand up after the whole situation.
TEM: Yeah totally!
SM: A girl with her pants down, unconscious under a bridge wouldn’t exactly be the sexiest picture to find.
TEM: Ummmm! No, not at all!
SM: So...suddenly, I raised my hand to my forehead and I noticed that there was blood spitting all over the place.
TEM: What the?!
SM: I had never seen so much blood, so I got hysterical, screaming that I was about to die.
TEM: Did you feel sick or anything?
SM: Feeling dizzy and stuff. The boys came running and carried me out of there. I was fast to find that it was only a small cut, so we sat by the place were I left my car to calm down. But the car wasn’t there.
TEM: This just keeps getting weirder! Did you freak out?
SM: I got really scared. I was still very confused because of the hit, so I asked the guys if that wasn’t the place were we left the car.
TEM: What did they say?
SM: They both confirmed that was the place where we left the car, for sure. I started looking for my car keys in my purse, but I just couldn’t find them.
TEM: No keys either?
SM: Yeah. Suddenly, as I look to the end of the road I saw a car exactly like mine, perfectly parked at the end of the hill, over a sidewalk. Then my boyfriend went to the place where the hit happened and he found the keys.
TEM: So weird! How did your car move?
SM: We still don’t know exactly how the hell it happened, but my boyfriend’s father came up with this theory that the car’s end break was loose and a temperature oscillation might have caused that.
TEM: I guess – so creepy though!
SM: Fuckin´ Twilight Zone!
TEM: Exactly! I have one final question for you – what is the “truth” about Sofia Magalhães?
SM: It was the weirdest thing that has ever happened to me...
