The Darkness and bassist Frankie Poullain have officially hit different roads, because of "musical differences".

The Darkness are currently in the studio (without Poullain) working away on their second album.

The band released this statement: "With immediate effect, bass player, Frankie Poullain, is no longer a member of The Darkness. Remaining members have cited musical differences as the reason for his departure. A replacement will be announced within coming months."
